Worn at: Fanime 2001 (Nina only)
General: Can you say "skank?" I swear, this has got to be my most revealing costume so far. Of course, it can't compare to Kamui's Lynx/Luchs costume, but that's a whole other ballpark. But overall, I say it was pretty accurate. I should've wore the blue wig though, to get the hair, but it was annoying and I can't DDR well with it on anyway. The bandana isn't orange, but I'm replacing it soon, so from now on I'll most likely have an orange one.
The Pants: Please someone shoot me. Those pants were SCARY. Pink, stretch, polyester, TIGHT. Man, I hated wearing those things; they felt FUNKY.
The Halter Top: I made this in my Fashion class at school. I was gonna turn it in as a project, but the problem with it was that I screwed up on the side seams, so I decided not to do that. I made it a little too short, revealing more than I should of my middriff. But if you scale it to the picture I used from the game, I suppose it's about right.
Accessories: I loved my bracelets! At first they were annoying, but the more I wore them, the more I loved having them on! I even kept them on when I changed out of my costume. Oh, and I kept the jewel bindi and bandana on as well. They just grew on me, and it was the only part of my costume I'd wear out in public (if I wasn't wearing my whole costume, that is).
General: *growls at Cici's previous comment on skankiness* >// I'm NEVER going to hear the end of that costume... ;_; *sigh* ANYWAYS... this was a relatively easy costume to pull together and pretty fun to wear. These costumes were done in conjunction with PhoeniX SeeD's DDR 4th Mix cosplay. I originally wanted to do Nina or Zukin, but was talked into being Johnny's dance partner, Jenny, by Matt and Kimi. ^^;; Soooo here I am with a character I totally do not look like. And then I talked Cici into doing the Nina costume.
Shirt Thing: The oddly striped shirt was the only part of the costume constructed from scratch. Has anyone noticed that vertically striped shirts and stuff just simply do not exist?! ^_^;; LUCKILY I found fabric that had a similar pattern, turned it sideways, and made the shirt without a real pattern. So it stretches the wrong way, but it works. I'm still considering dying the shirt so the lighter stripes are more greenish... but it may not be necessary.
Skirt: The shirt isn't so bad. It's the skirt that's bad. Well.. I mean, it's not too terrible... but it's not too fun to play DDR in the arcade in front of many people in a short skirt when you normally don't wear skirts to begin with!! On Trick and Maniac modes, even. @_@; Yeah.. uhm, pertaining to the actual construction of the costume, the skirt was originally my mom's, though she never wore it, and I shortened it and added three buttons to the front. Actually, I wasn't sure at first whether Jenny's wearing a skirt or shorts. I took a gamble. ^_^;
Group: Cici and I haven't gotten to gather with all the other DDR cosplayers for a photo shoot... but hopefully we'll do it soon and cause major havok. ^_^ Their costumes do look AWESOME though!
