General: I love Lunar Silver Star Story! It's such an awesome game! And Luna is such a sweetie! And she sings too! (BIG PLUS!) Luna was my first detailed costume that I ever attempted to make. And overall, she was the second costume that I ever made. Making this costume was one GREAT learning experience, which basically taught me why I shouldn't use satin for extremely detailed costume pieces. AIYEEE~!

Dress: The dress was the easiest part of the whole costume. It was just full of straight stitching until I got to the poofy sleeves. I had no idea how to make huge sleeves like that so I did some experimenting and basically used a drawstring idea. I loosely stitch the edges and pull on the string (like a drawstring!) and collected the fabric. The whole idea worked really well and I got a nice pair of voluminous sleeves. XD

Shirt: I heat n bonded the top blue portion to the white portion. The shirt came out great. I really liked how it looked. I also put the zipper on the side so that the back of the shirt wouldn't have a huge zipper line going down it.

Purple Shawl & White Reversed Apron: This is where I learned that heat n bond does NOT fully protect your fabric from fraying. X_x I knew that I could have sewn the triangles together but since I was pressed for time (since I'm such a procrastinator) I heat n bonded all of the triangles onto the main pieces. At first it looked nice. That is, until I wore it for a couple minutes. Sigh~ These two pieces were the most unstable parts of the whole outfit and had to undergo quite a lot of repair afterwards.

Cap: I had no idea how to make a cap so I just look at how a baseball cap was made. ^.^; I basically derived the patterns from studying the cap. I used some stretchy shirting material to make the cap, which was good since I could, therefore, make the cap a little smaller and still have it fit my head. I only wish that I could have found a beanie or something instead because making the cap was really hard for an amateur like me (my first attempt made me look like a cone head XD)
